We submitted a request for a new VAT registration this month. What is the client doing?
HMRC reply: “Please supply additional information about your main business activity and describe the nature of the supplies you are making.”
Tempted to reply: “Well, sir, it is something that happens in the countryside and usually involves fields and growing things and sometimes animals and always muck and plenty of weather. Most farmers do a bit of this and a bit of that, whatever makes money”
Except it will probably wind them up.
Should I worry about the lack of rural knowledge at the Revenue?
