Saving Tiny Lives

Dealing with your annual Tax Return is not most people’s favourite experience but we’ve decided to turn it into something positive. For every Self Assessment Tax Return we file during the period to 31 January 2013 we’ll be giving £1 to support the premature baby unit at Kitovu hospital, Masaka in Uganda which has been started by River of Life Church.

Many premature babies die in Africa because there is not the expertise or incubators to keep them alive. 39,000 babies a year in Uganda alone die in less than 28 days. Since this unit was opened last year it has already saved many lives and brought joy to many families.

Alan and I have known Rob Davies the director of River of Life Church (which also does lots of other amazing things in their community) for over 10 years so we know the money we give will go straight to help the baby unit.

Last month my daughter Fiona visited the baby unit. You can read about her visit on her blog:

We are hoping to file a record number of returns this year to enable us to give more babies the chance of life. That has to be good news!
